According to P4 Gothenburg, after returning home, participants experienced body aches and discovered discoloured urine, and subsequently sought medical attention.
"We don't want to speculate about what happened. We don't have all the information about what it could be," says national team manager Albin Ekenberg.
According to information provided to the radio channel, the gymnasts wore EMS suits, which send electrical impulses to several muscle groups simultaneously, during a training session.
Research shows, P4 Gothenburg reports, that if the suits are used too intensively the first few times, it can lead to muscle breakdown and kidney problems.
