Several Swedish titles have been awarded at last night's The Game Awards, which are often described as the gaming world's answer to the Oscars. Among the winners is "Arc Raiders" from Embark studios, which was awarded the award in the multiplayer category.

Robert Sammelin from Embark studios thanks the players in his acceptance speech.

"Your love and commitment mean everything to us. Thank you," he says.

The game “The Midnight Walk”, from Moonhood/Fast Travel Games, was also awarded the prize in the VR/AR category. “Battlefield 6” from Battlefield Studios (including Dice) was praised for its sound design.

Josef Fares Hazelight, who received four nominations for “Split fiction,” however, went unnominated.

In the category for the best award, "Game of the Year," there was no Swedish-developed game represented. There, it was "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" from Sandfall interactive/Kepler interactive that took home the statuette.

The Game Awards is like a mix between an industry gala and a publicity stunt, with celebrities, performances and an awards ceremony.
