In March last year, the Swedish tennis player Dragos Madaras was banned for 4.5 years for violating tennis's anti-corruption rules.
Now, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) has shortened the ban to two years. This means Madaras is free to play tennis again from August 17, 2025, according to ITIA, tennis's anti-corruption agency, in a press release.
Fines of $2,500 remain.
Madaras was banned for not cooperating in the investigation into suspected betting related to matches between 2017 and 2020, according to ITIA.
