A Swedish 16-year-old charged with recruiting young people for assassination missions in Denmark firmly denied the charges when he spoke in Copenhagen District Court.

I've probably committed some petty crimes, but not any of the things I've been charged with.

The trial concerns three planned acts of violence in different parts of Copenhagen. According to the prosecutor, murder was planned, but no one lost their life.

The boy was arrested with his father and stepmother in Alicante in November 2024 after cooperation between Europol and the Swedish, Danish and Spanish police.

He was sentenced this summer to two years in closed juvenile detention in Sweden for aiding and abetting two attempted murders, attempted extortion and blackmail. According to the verdict from Solna District Court, he can be linked to gang leader Ismail Abdo, also known as Jordgubben.
