17-year-old Lea Nilsson defeated American Julieta Pareja, world number one on the junior side, and is ready for the quarterfinals after 6–4, 3–6, 6–3.
The Swede had to qualify to get into the junior tournament.
The 17-year-old from Stockholm became two years ago the youngest Swede to win a national team match – on both the men's and women's side – when she won in the Billie Jean King Cup, the women's equivalent to the Davis Cup.
