Earlier this week, Fridolina Rolfö headed the decisive goal 2-1 for Manchester United in Champions League football at home against Paris Saint-Germain - on a cross from national teammate Anna Sandberg.
Saturday's league derby against Andrée Jeglertz-coached Manchester City was considerably harder for the Swedish trio Rolfö, Sandberg and Julia Zigiotti Olme
After just 45 minutes, third-placed United – where Rolfö started on the bench – were down 0–3 against league leaders City.
Former Rosengårds player Rebecca Knaak headed the lead goal from a corner in the 26th minute. In the 43rd minute, Khadija Shaw made it 2–0 and in added time of the first act, Lauren Hemp scored from distance to make it 3–0.
Rolfö was substituted after just over an hour, but away team United never managed to score at Etihad Stadium.
The table-topping City thus extended the gap to their city rivals to seven points.
