"Handbook for Superheroes" has been seen by almost 100,000 Swedes since its theatrical release on Christmas Day. The rights to the film, which is based on the popular book series, have been sold to 16 countries and more are expected to follow, according to the production company.

Elias and Agnes Våhlund's book series about bullied Lisa, who finds a handbook that teaches superpowers, has been a success and has sold more than two million copies in Sweden alone.

Since its theatrical release, the rights to the film, which is based on the first four books in the series, have been sold to 16 countries. Negotiations are underway with “a large number of additional countries worldwide,” production company Stiller Studios said in a press release.
