It feels crazy outside right now. I had no idea how it was going during the competition. It's real Easter weather, but it's crazy that it went so well, Svahn tells Viaplay.

At a snowy Lake Placid, New York, Linn Svahn went on a roll in the individual one-mile race. When the Swede crossed the finish line, she did so with a margin of over two minutes over the then-second-place Kaidy Kaasiku of Estonia.

However, the biggest threat, Frida Karlsson, was still out on the track. Even the Olympic gold medalist in the 10-kilometer freestyle could not beat the sprint specialist, and Karlsson finished second - just 1.4 seconds behind Svahn.

I saw when I was in the leader's seat that I was three seconds behind at the last intermediate time, but I must have finished pretty well, Svahn says.

The victory is Linn Svahn's first in an individual start, according to Viaplay. Heidi Weng of Norway finished third, 22 seconds behind Svahn.

Moa Ilar was the third-best Swede in eighth place, just over a minute from victory. Jonna Sundling finished twelfth, Emma Ribom 15th and Maja Dahlqvist 17th.
