Swedish state budget deficit SEK 32.2 billion in January

The state budget balance for January was a deficit of SEK 32.2 billion, the Swedish Financial Management Agency (ESV) said in a press release.

This compares with a deficit of SEK 23.3 billion in January 2025.

Total revenue in the state budget increased in January by 0.2 percent compared with the same month last year, to SEK 96.1 billion.

Total expenses increased by 7.7 percent compared with January 2025.
