"As planned, some of the Olympic-ready skiers are choosing to stay over Davos. It has been part of their planning not to go up to altitude now, but instead to get a good training period before the Tour de Ski. At the same time, skiers who could have participated in the Davos competitions have chosen instead to take the chance to qualify for the Tour de Ski via the Scandinavian Cup," says national team manager Anders Byström.
Neither will 19-year-old rising star Alvar Myhlback start in the Swiss tracks, as he will instead compete as planned when the long-distance cup begins at the same time in Bad Gastein, Austria.
Sprint relay, sprint and 10 kilometer interval start are on the schedule Friday-Sunday in Davos.
