Emma Ribom, who finished second in the 5-kilometre race on Wednesday and is sixth overall in the Tour de Ski, has been forced to withdraw from the event.

She woke up with cold symptoms, Viaplay reports.

The women's pursuit starts at 12:30 in Doblach.

On Wednesday, Emma Ribom shed tears of joy after coming second in the five-kilometer race, which was run in heats.

There had been so many poles out, so it was nice to have a pole in. It could be my best day on skis in all of 2025. Nice to end the year like this, I'm really happy, Ribom told Viaplay.

The joy was short-lived when she woke up with cold symptoms on New Year's Day and was forced to withdraw from the tour halfway through.

Tour runner-up Astrid Øyre Slind of Norway also withdrew from the tour with a cold.
