During his career of more than 30 years, he has commentated on several classic moments in Swedish sport, including Tre Kronor's comeback against Finland at the 2003 World Ice Hockey Championship and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's goal against Italy at the 2004 European Football Championship.

On TV4’s Nyhetsmorgon, Granqvist talks about his joy at receiving the award and his work as a commentator.

“Every time the bosses call me, I jump for joy and say, ‘Hurray, I get to work again,’” he says.

The Hyland Prize was first awarded in 1987 and was relaunched in 2024 after a hiatus. The prize is named in memory of television pioneer Lennart Hyland.
