"I'm very, very pleased with this result. It's extra special to win such a big and traditional competition. In this part of the world, rally sport is big", says Solberg in a press release.
Solberg in his Toyota was more than 50 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor and was the fastest on more than half of the special stages, according to his team.
Solberg also won at home in the Swedish Rally in February and has now won nine times in the WRC 2 class at the VM.
"I've been so close to winning this rally twice, and it was fantastic to finally do it this time", says the Swede.
