The police were sent to the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, on Thursday.
One task is to establish an evacuation plan for people with special needs who need to be able to travel to Sweden quickly - for example, families with small children, the elderly and people with disabilities.
The police write that it is estimated there are approximately 200 Swedes.
"We are also prepared to quickly send more resources or specialized expertise if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deems it necessary," says Linda Hedmark, head of the operational unit at the police's national operational department (Noa).
The police will also review travel and ID documents and assist with police and security-related issues.
