Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party) is inviting the party leaders of the Riksdag for talks after the extraordinary top-level meeting on Ukraine in Brussels later in the week.

Sweden's PM Calls for Unity Talks After Key Ukraine Summit

"On Thursday and Friday, I'm going to Brussels for an extraordinary summit on Ukraine. After the meeting in Brussels, I have invited the party leaders of all the Riksdag parties for information and discussion about the security situation", he writes in a post on X.

Representatives from the Military Intelligence and Security Service will also participate in the talks.

The Prime Minister writes further that he has met with the National Security Council during the day to discuss the situation in Ukraine and "the security situation in our part of the world, following the recent days' events".

"In serious times, it's important that we stand together as a country", concludes Kristersson.

On Thursday, the EU's heads of state and government will gather for a meeting on a new support package to Ukraine of up to 20 billion euros.
