Under Saturday afternoon, the semifinals, "final four", in the Champions League of handball were decided. First out was the match between German Füchse Berlin and Nantes from France.

The match was not even ten minutes old when the world's best player Mathias Gidsel received a red card. It didn't matter for Berlin, which won with 34-24 and was clearly qualified for the final.

Danish Max Darj contributed, among other things, to the victory for Berlin by making a goal. The duo Jerry Tollbring and Valter Chrintz, however, did not do so, as both are injured.

In the second semifinal, Barcelona with the Swedes Jonathan Carlsbogård and Hampus Wanne were then matched against Magdeburg and the Swedes Felix Claar, Albin Lagergren, Daniel Pettersson, Oscar Bergendahl and Isak Persson. The semifinal became significantly more even before Magdeburg could pull the longest straw and advance to the final after a decisive goal in the last second.

Magdeburg took home the Champions League title 2023. Berlin has never won the Champions League before.
