The 25-year-old was born with Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome, a disease that has meant the muscles in her right leg have not developed as much as in her left.
Now she is waiting for keyhole surgery, in the hope that the condition will improve in the long term and that she can extend her alpine career.
The Paralympic star had another successful Paralympics last winter. Årsjö was superior and took home a total of four medals, three of them gold, in Cortina.
"Finished with the first surgery. A little sore and tired but happy it's done," Årsjö writes to a picture of herself taken after the surgery.
