Elvira Öberg and Sebastian Samuelsson will start when the biathlon competition is decided at Stockholm Stadium on March 2. The Swedes have started the season strongly and face tough French opposition.

The biathlon competition will be decided shortly after the Winter Olympics in Italy and the competition will be run in a mixed format with two-person teams.

The competition will be tough. France will field two teams: Emilien Jacquelin and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, as well as Océane Michelon and Fabien Claude - all with multiple World Cup and Olympic medals.

Öberg took a dominant victory in the sprint in Oberhof on Thursday and is sixth overall in the World Cup. Samuelsson came fourth in the same race and is also fourth overall.

"Being able to compete at the Biathlon Championships on our Swedish home turf in Stockholm means an incredible amount to me, especially after I missed it last year due to illness. After taking the first sprint victory of the season, my confidence now feels strong and I am really excited," says Elvira Öberg in a statement.
