Olympic-qualified goaltender Jesper Wallstedt had a tough night at home against Winnipeg. After conceding the sixth goal, he was replaced by fellow Tre Kronor goaltender Filip Gustavsson.

Three goals were conceded by Minnesota in the first period of tonight's NHL game. Visiting Winnipeg scored to make it 2–0 and then 3–0 with eleven and three seconds left in the period, respectively, and after that Minnesota struggled to come back.

Minnesota goalie Jesper Wallstedt, who has been selected for the Olympics that start in a few weeks, had a disastrous night and allowed six goals before the end of the second period.

In the third period, Minnesota's other Olympic-qualified goalie - Filip Gustavsson - took over, and managed to stop any further goals in the final period.

In the same period, Swedish forward Marcus Johansson scored a consolation goal for Minnesota. Winnipeg won 6–2.
