Rasmus Andersson, who is currently in the final of six contracted seasons with Calgary, was traded for Zach Whitecloud, the rights to prospect Abram Wiebe, a first-round draft pick in 2027 and a conditional second-round pick in 2028.
"In deals like this, when you have a player of Rasmus' caliber, there really has to be a first-round pick," Calgary general manager Craig Conroy told NHL.com.
Rasmus Andersson has played about 600 games for Calgary and was selected to play for Tre Kronor at the Olympics in February.
