The 49-year-old has been in Chicago's organization for over ten years and took over as temporary "interim" solution in December when Luke Richardson was fired.
"I was incredibly proud and happy when I got the question from Sam (Hallam, national team captain) to join Tre Kronor's World Championship staff. To represent Sweden at a home World Championship is a dream that every hockey coach carries, and now it's coming true for me. I thank for the trust and will take on the task with great enthusiasm and humility", says Anders Sörensen in a press release from the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.
Sörensen can join Tre Kronor for the World Championship since it is clear that Chicago, last in NHL's central division, will miss the Stanley Cup playoffs that begin later in April.
In total, Tre Kronor's World Championship staff consists of 18 leaders.
