“Strengthening food security in the northernmost counties is important, both because of the geographical location and because the region is important in the defense of Sweden and our allies in NATO,” Christina Nordin, Director General of the Swedish National Food Administration, said in a press release.
She said freeze-dried food can be stored for up to 25 years and is easy and flexible to prepare.
The goal is for the first deliveries of freeze-dried food to be in place before the end of the year.
