The left-wing politician from Dalarna was elected to the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament), and it later emerged that the police had launched an investigation into suspected election fraud.

On Sunday, Mohamed Ali shared a picture on Facebook showing an envelope addressed to him and a small note reading: "You have compromised us. The entire Somali group. Leave the Riksdag or we will help you with it."

Last week, Mohamed Ali submitted a leave request to the Speaker, asking for two weeks off and citing "personal concerns related to ongoing government matters pending official notification." Ali has not been charged with any crime.
