The advisory applies within 20 kilometers of the border with Colombia.
"The security situation in the border area with Colombia is serious, with a high risk of violence and crime. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy in Guatemala City are closely monitoring developments," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press service wrote in an email to TT.
