Swedish meeting in Japan: "Sad"

Linz, Frankfurt and soon also Fukuoka. The Swedish stars continue to face each other. We both think it's probably boring, says Truls Möregårdh ahead of the meeting with Anton Källberg at the World Championship tour final in Japan.

In the European Championship quarterfinal, Möregårdh won and then Källberg got his revenge in the semifinal of the WTT Champions tournament.

Now, another hot meeting awaits.

In the World Championship final in Japan, it will be a Swedish match directly.

I sat there and saw how small the chance was for the draw. It was hard to keep a straight face, we are two Swedes and meet each other directly, says Möregårdh to SVT.

It's sad, but you just have to accept the situation.

The 22-year-old, who left the Olympic Games in Paris with two silver medals, says he refuses to think about the last meeting, which ended in defeat.

I take with me that I beat him in the quarterfinals at the European Championship instead, he says.

For the one who wins the Swedish match, another tough match awaits: world number one Chuqin Wang, China, or Patrick Franziska, Germany.

The World Championship final begins on Wednesday and continues until Sunday.
