Earlier on Thursday, Markus Jansson made it to the semifinals thanks to national team colleague Jesper Svensson.
The battle for a semi-final spot was between Jansson and Dane Dan A Østergaard. In the group stage decider, Markus Jansson defeated Dane Mathias Ankerdal while Jesper Svensson beat Østergaard.
The World Championship bronze was Jansson's third, and his first in singles. In 2021, he took bronze in 3-man and mixed.
