The mood in Swedish industry is weakening. The purchasing managers' index for industry fell in July to 55.8, compared with 58.0 the previous month.

This is the first decline in five months, but the index is above its historical average for the 13th month in a row, according to Swedbank and Silf, which conducted the survey.

"Order intake, production and employment continue to grow while cost pressures have eased," says Jörgen Kennemar, who is responsible for analysis of the Purchasing Managers' Index at Swedbank, in a press release.
