In 2018 the then-20-year-old Swede first attacked a 24-year-old Norwegian man in an apartment in Oslo and killed him with a knife. The Swede confessed to the crime when he was arrested in France a week later.
At that time, he had also killed a 58-year-old Belgian woman in her own home, inflicting 40 stab wounds.
The Oslo District Court sentenced him to forensic psychiatric care in 2020, on the grounds that he suffered from a mental disorder at the time. However, the court in Belgium now finds that the man simulated mental illness and has sentenced him to life imprisonment.
