The girl was ten years old when the assaults began, and it was last autumn that she, as an adult, reported the man to the police.

The assaults occurred daily at times, and at other times, they occurred about once a week. The man is now being convicted of over 200 rapes, a figure that, according to the court, is a low estimate and "a very cautious assessment".

The court writes that it has assumed that the man assaulted the girl, and later the young woman, a couple of times a month for 14 years. According to the district court, the girl was in a helpless, vulnerable, and almost coercive situation.

In addition to the assaults on the girl, the man is convicted of another rape that occurred in 2012, against another close relative child.

In addition to the prison sentence, the man is to pay damages of 825,000 kronor to the woman who was exposed for 14 years. The second victim is to receive damages of 85,000 kronor.

The man is convicted despite his denial.
