The man is suspected of a particularly serious drug offence and a particularly serious weapons offence. He has been wanted internationally and was recently arrested in absentia.
The arrest is the result of a cooperation agreement signed this spring between Swedish and Moroccan police.
"Now, through good cooperation, the police in Morocco have taken the suspect into custody and it is an important step in our crime-fighting work," says David Wunsch, acting deputy head of the investigation unit in Region West.
