The man was last seen on Saturday when he left a bar on Pilestræde in the inner city at 2 a.m. On Sunday morning, the Copenhagen police issued a wanted notice.
It is still unclear how the man ended up in the water, but police do not suspect foul play.
The man is a Swedish citizen, but was residing in Denmark. Next of kin have been notified.
