The detained person is internationally wanted for, among other things, murder and possession of firearms and explosives, reports TV4 News.

Swedish police confirm the arrest to TT. Håkan Wall, head of the international unit at the National Operational Department (Noa), states that the man has been detained due to a Swedish warrant.

He is suspected of crimes in Sweden and has been arrested in absentia by a Swedish court, says Wall.

According to Håkan Wall, the man is part of the Swedish criminal underworld "where serious violence is exercised".

We will continue to work on the case and expect to request the person's extradition to Sweden in the long run. This will be done through the Ministry of Justice.

The man reportedly arrived in Turkey from Morocco on January 7, according to Turkish media. He was then tracked and monitored by Turkish police until a special task force arrested him in Bodrum on January 17.
