The man was arrested on Saturday night outside Barcelona. According to state prosecutor Ida Arnell, the man is one of those who has guided young people to commit serious violent crimes in Sweden.
The suspicions against him concern around twenty different crimes linked to serious violent crime during the summer of 2024, she tells TT.
He was arrested in absentia in May last year. Arnell has issued a European arrest warrant for his extradition.
Through mapping and reconnaissance, we have been able to locate him. We have also asked Spain for help in organising the actual search and arrest of him.
According to SVT News, the man is said to belong to the top echelons of the so-called Dalen Network.
He is suspected of largely the same crimes as the network's designated leader, Mikael "The Greek" Tenezos, who was extradited from Mexico last fall.
The hope and idea is that it will lead to a joint prosecution with the person who was previously detained in this case, says Arnell.
In addition to Sweden, the man is also suspected of crimes in Norway.
