The development now means that the Swedish krona is the worst-performing of the so-called G10 currencies - the most traded and liquid currencies in the world, according to Bloomberg News' weekly dollar index.
Since the start of the year, the Swedish krona has lost 9.81 percent against the dollar, which now costs around 10 kronor.
At the same time, the Norwegian krone has performed best, strengthening by almost 5 percent since the start of the year.
