Medals are pouring in for the Swedish jujutsu national team at the European Championship in Belgium. On Friday, the first gold also came, through Emma Lette in the +70-kilo class.

Lette defended her European Championship gold by winning the final against Lauryne Lage from France. The victory bodes well for the World Championship in Bangkok later in the fall.

"Now I'm incredibly hopeful and motivated for the World Championship. During the final match against the Frenchwoman, I really felt how the last piece that was missing fell into place. So if everything goes as it should, I will enter the World Championship with confidence and a gold medal in sight", says Emma Lette in a press release.

There were three more blue and yellow medals on Friday. Alicia Johansson took silver in the -70 kg class after a final loss to Chloé Lalande, France. And on the junior side, Kimon Christoforidis arranged a silver in -85 kg while Linnea Woxenius took bronze in -52 kg.

As early as Thursday, Livia Högbom initiated the Swedish medal harvest when she took a junior silver in the -63 kg class.

All Swedish medals have come in the fighting event. At the European Championship in Beveren, which ends on Sunday, Sweden also has participants in the newaza and para classes.
