The Kings won 3-2 in a shootout after Adrian Kempe scored the decisive goal and goaltender Anton Forsberg saved all three attempts, including one from compatriot and Nashville star Filip Forsberg.
During regulation, Forsberg made 29 saves.
"I like penalty shots when it's one-on-one. I feel confident then, and tonight everything went right," Anton Forsberg told NHL.com.
The victory meant that the Kings overtook Nashville in the standings and climbed into the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with five games left in the regular season.
