Swedish hurdler David Thid switches allegiance to Thailand over lack of trust in SOK

David Thid has a personal best of 49.12 seconds in the 400-metre hurdles, which puts him sixth on Sweden's all-time list over the distance.

"It's mainly because I don't trust SOK (Swedish Olympic Committee) and the risk of not being selected for the Olympics even though I deserve the spot," the 23-year-old says in a statement.

Earlier this year, sprint runner Nora Lindahl chose to switch national teams in order to compete for Finland.
