"Denniz Pop wrote history and has always been a role model for us when we grew up, especially since he already early in life had a big heart for dance music", says Swedish House Mafia in a press release.

Ilya Salmanzadeh has produced and written songs for stars like Ariana Grande, Coldplay and Taylor Swift. Noonie Bao has collaborated with, among others, Charli XCX, Katy Perry and Avicii.

"Denniz Pop's name was on the back of almost every single I bought and wore out in the 90s", she says.

Dag Volle, best known as Denniz Pop (1963–1998), is usually counted as one of the founders of "the modern Swedish pop wonder". This year, it's the twelfth time the prizes in his name are awarded. The award ceremony takes place on June 10 in Stockholm.
