Swedish Gripen Jets Complete First NATO Mission Over Baltic Sea

Two Swedish Jas 39 Gripen have carried out the first sharp mission within NATO's reinforced incident preparedness, writes the Defence on its website.

The fighter jets, which are based in Poland, made a visual identification of a Russian signals intelligence aircraft.

The identification took place in international airspace over the Baltic Sea, north of the Polish coast. The operation was led by NATO's Combined Air Operation Center in German Uedem.
