There is a lot of Swedish at the top in the PGA Championship at Wentworth. Ludvig Åberg was in sole lead, but was knocked down to shared second place by Hideki Matsuyama.

It seems it can be a really nice Swedish golf weekend in DP World Tours flagship competition in England.

Ludvig Åberg went out on the second round in shared leadership, but started with par and bogey and fell behind Viktor Hovland. The 25-year-old then played himself up, and was for a while in sole leadership after five birdies.

In hole 17, however, came a bogey, at the same time as Matsuyama made an eagle and took over the first place with a total of twelve under par. Åberg is now in shared second place on –11 together with Justin Rose and Viktor Hovland.

Åberg is the only Swede who has been selected for Europe's Ryder Cup team for the battle against the USA in two weeks.

Alex Norén followed up the first round's five under par with an almost equally good effort on Friday. A slightly too short birdie putt on the last hole meant that he had to settle for four under for the day, which gives a shared sixth place on –9.

Joakim Lagergren is not far behind, largely thanks to his even better first round. Despite "only" one under par on Friday, Lagergren is only five strokes from the lead with half the competition completed.

Simon Forsström (+2) and Marcus Kinhult (+6) will miss the qualifying limit.

The second round had to be stopped on Friday evening and will be completed on Saturday morning. All Swedes managed to finish.
