Emma Holmgren, goalkeeper in the Swedish national football team and Hammarby, is pregnant. "We are so incredibly happy", she writes on Instagram.

Holmgren was part of the Swedish squad during the summer's European Championship in Switzerland, but got no playing time as first-choice goalkeeper Jennifer Falk started all matches.

In January, Holmgren was confirmed for a return to Hammarby, which she left in 2018. It was not until after the European Championship that the 28-year-old joined "Bajen" after her contract with the Spanish club Levante expired.

But playing for the green and white ones will have to wait, as she and her partner Fredrik Andersson are expecting a child.

"I looked forward so much to coming home and playing for Bajen. My body has been tingling with longing to put on the green and white jersey again. Unfortunately, it will not happen now in the fall, but that comeback will have to wait a little longer", writes Holmgren.

"We are looking forward to seeing you and until March".
