It initially looked bleak for St Louis when the home team Seattle – after a goalless first period – scored two goals in quick succession at the beginning of the second period. But just over ten minutes later, St Louis forward Jordan Kyrou stepped forward and reduced the score.
New acquisition Philip Broberg – who previously played in Edmonton – equalized to 2–2 with the first Swedish goal of the season in the league. Thereafter, Kyrou secured the win with another goal.
We obviously didn't get the start we wanted, but then we came together as a team and played better, says Broberg to reporters after the match.
He adds that it was nice to see the puck go into the goal.
It felt really good.
During the night, Florida and Boston also met in a goal-rich match where the former overwhelmed their opponents. The meeting ended with a 6–4 win for Florida, also with Swedish contributions. Both Elias Lindholm and Hampus Lindholm, Boston, as well as Jesper Boqvist, Florida, made assists.
