Elmer Söderblom and Erik Karlsson were both involved in the very first goal of the match, which came in the first minute, when they set up teammate Noel Acciari for the goal.
A few minutes later, Karlsson scored the 2-0 goal himself.
The Swedes also picked up several points in the second period. In addition to several Swedish assists, there were goals from Söderblom and Rickard Rakell.
The match ended 9–4 in favor of Pittsburgh, and Karlsson and Söderblom were named stars of the match.
Pittsburgh remains in second place in its division. The top three teams are guaranteed a spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
