Sweden's GDP decreased by 0.6 percent in December from the previous month, according to preliminary GDP estimates. The figure is seasonally adjusted.

For the fourth quarter as a whole, GDP was 0.2 percent higher than the previous quarter, according to figures from Statistics Sweden (SCB).

"After a strong November, Swedish economic activity fell back in the last month of the year. The outcome indicates that the growth trend we have seen since the second quarter of the year will largely continue through the rest of 2025, albeit now at a somewhat more cautious pace," says Mattias Kain Wyatt, economist at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.

The GDP indicator is intended to provide an early picture of developments in gross domestic product.
