The 25-year-old man was arrested on June 16 in Málaga on Spain's south coast, according to a press release from the Swedish police.
He is suspected of having "directed other people who handled a large number of grenades" in the Gothenburg area earlier this year, it says. He is linked to a "known network" and is also suspected of particularly serious drug offences.
A large part of organised crime in Sweden is controlled by people higher up in the hierarchy who are abroad. A number of people suspected of crimes in Sweden have been arrested in Spain, among other places, in recent years.
