The man, in his 30s, was arrested on Wednesday after prosecutors issued a European arrest warrant, police wrote on their website.
He is described as having had a central role in Malmö's criminal environment. The arrest took place after cooperation with Europol and Polish police, among others.
The suspicions concern several cases of serious and particularly serious drug crimes.
"The suspicions relate to the manufacture, smuggling and further distribution of large quantities of narcotics. In addition, I currently believe that each of the crimes was part of an activity conducted in an organized manner aimed at large-scale drug trafficking," said Magnus Pettersson, senior prosecutor at the National Unit against International and Organized Crime, in a press release.
