Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard (The Moderate Party) is traveling on Midsummer Eve to Washington to meet her American counterpart Marco Rubio, the government announces.
On the agenda are talks about "Swedish-American cooperation, security and current geopolitical challenges". In addition, the Minister for Foreign Affairs will sign an agreement with the USA that enables American companies to export advanced space technology to Sweden.
"Sweden looks forward to continuing to develop cooperation with the USA and strengthening the long-term relationships between our countries in strategically important issues for our common security", says Malmer Stenergard in the press release.
She will also participate in the Midsummer celebration at National Mall.
