Sweden and France are pushing for increased tariffs on goods from Israeli settlements.

The proposal is being put forward, among other things, in part because it can be adopted by a qualified majority of EU countries.

Going further, for example pausing the EU's association agreement with Israel, requires unity in the EU that does not yet exist.

There is such a proposal from Spain, among others. I do not believe there is support for it at the moment. But Israel must change how it acts so that this issue is not raised further, says Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) on her way to a meeting in Luxembourg.

We are concerned about developments. In many areas, things are going in the wrong direction.
