Amanda Kernell was awarded the Silver Shell for best director on Saturday for the film "Gör hjärtat hårt" ("Garrat du Váimmu").
"This film is the result of the hard work of so many people," she said in her acceptance speech, according to the press release.
The film was also recently honored at the Toronto Film Festival, where it received the Special Jury Prize.
Actor Asta Kamma August was also honoured in San Sebastián, where she was awarded the Silver Shell for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the Norwegian film “Growth of the Soil.” The film is Norway’s Oscar entry.
