Business Sweden measures quarterly the Swedish companies' view on the possibilities for successful export. The index fell from 49.9 to 46.4. The assessment of the USA is pitch-black.
"The index for expected export demand from North America plummeted to the lowest measured level", says Lena Sellgren, economist at Business Sweden, in a press release.
The individual USA index fell from 56.5 in the first quarter to 26.3 in the second quarter.
On the other hand, the index for the Asian markets and to some extent also the expected demand from the export markets in Western Europe increased.
"This is the glimmer of light we see amidst the trade war and stands in stark contrast to both North and South America", says Sellgren.
